When Your Favourite Relatives Visit

Woke up groggily to the sound of children trampling into my bedroom, jumping on my bed, with squeals of delight urging me to get out of my bed.

Oh no, I thought to myself.

Not again.

It was my little cousins. Everytime we visit, or they visit in this case, my sisters and I will be dragged out of bed reluctantly in the mornings. Seems like this tradition is gonna go on for a looooong time.

I'm happy they visited us, but they can get a little over the top at times... and I for one, do not like kids.

I wasn't always like this. I used to like kids and love them for their childlike ways and innocence. However since last year, I realised the pain of having to take care and nurture one.

And to think people would actually go through crazy extents just to get pregnant with a baby.
Oh the joy.

Yes I'm aware I sound like a bitter old hag.. again. But kids are only nice if they aren't rough, aren't too playful, aren't too buggy and aren't disobedient, which is pretty much what 99% of kids are.

And wow my cousins are pretty rough.

So we decided to take them out to 1Utama for shoppinggg.

Wrong choice.

They were super noisy and ran all around like little maniacs.

The only time they were silent is while they were posing for pictures. LOL

 Do not be fooled by their cutesy faces.

 Ooh and there's a new toy shop in town!

The place was super cool and had many sections to it.

Such as toys that move, and toys for bathing etc.

 Dinner at Dave's Deli.

And we came across this place which sells really cool bean bags, with pictures of animals on them.

We wanted to snag one home but unfortunately it was abit pricey due to the reason it's exterior is made of leather.

 And this 3D bean bag was just shoooo adorable.

Just ignore all the blur people getting in the way of my picture.

It's funny because nobody was looking around the bean bags when we came, however after we started fussing around the bean bags, people from nowhere started flooding the entire place --"

Malaysians.

They just appear whenever there's a crowd.

I was so proud yesterday because we actually managed to finally bring this home without losing it halfway.

Close Your Eyes

Been realising that I needed to do more fun stuff and start learning the roads to places beyond the in-built-GPS in my head. Honestly, I'm such a boring person to hang out with. Whenever there are long hours break in between classes, people would usually drive out to eat at new places. Not me.

I just choose to stay in college most of the time and eat Subway. No kidding.

I guess it's also cuz now is the time of the semester where everything gets intense. So even I feel too intense to even think of the luxury of hanging out with friends because that would just mean wasting two or three hours straight doing nothing but chatting away.

Lol even the way I talk I sound like a grandma.

I mean which young person in this generation would think hanging out with friends is a waste of time.

But no matter how busy you are,  I guess there's always a few people you wouldn't mind chipping some time in for them. So amidst everything that was going on, my bestie finally managed to get me out of the house.

I brought him to Antipodean because he has NEVER been there before. And since he just finished his A levels, I reasoned with myself he deserved some sort of celebratory meal. 

HAHA. Yes I even had to reason with myself.

Oh plus he has never tried steamed bacon before.

When I was trying to make up mind between going for the Eggs Benedict and the Breakfast set.

 Dom ordered the Big Breakfast.

But instead of choosing the bacon, he took the sausage.

Guess what was his conclusion.

Sausages are bigger than bacon, therefore more worth the money.

I guess this is why we're friends though, cuz we are both cheapskates haha.

Never really knew how Eggs Benedict should taste like but this was just fine by me.

Plus they gave me lots and lots of BACON!

 Right after that we headed to Dip N Dip, which was just on the next lane.

Yet another mainstream place which Dom was tempted to try thanks to all the Instagram photos.

Don't get me wrong, I love chocolate... and anything that has to do with food.

But I'm not fond of places that become too popular because the quality of food usually drops and the prices in the menu usually increase to an absurd amount.

 A really cute introduction in their menu.

They were afraid we would eat it!

Oh and they've got you covered if you just can't make up your mind (like me).

Just close your eyes and simply place your finger on any of the two pages.

I thought it was really sweet of them, however Dom said that it was just a business gimmick and all the expensive items are around the middle because people would usually choose the middle instead of the side.

That literally stripped me off Cloud 9.

Sigh. Dom and his conclusions haha.

We ordered the brownie crepe.

 I realised people seldom took pictures of the inside so here's how it actually looks like.

It's basically a layer of crepe wrapped around small pieces of brownies, topped with a choice of melted dark or milk chocolate.

Work Hard, No Play

It's already the end of November in just a flash of time. This means more work, more assignments to rush, more study time, and less everything else.

Argh so frustrated.

Especially since this semester I'm not doing that well in all the subjects :/ The worse thing that can happen is when lecturers set their expectations so damn high you can't even see them anymore. I mean if what they taught us in class was as good and as much as their expectations, then fine.

But if they barely taught us anything, except some of the stupid basics on softwares most of us don't even have at home to practise on, then they have no right to have such high expectations.

C'mon. It's not our fault that our work reflects your sucky teaching right.

Besides that, I feel so demotivated working on assignments especially which I feel the lecturer is biased. It just feels like no matter how good my work is and how much I try to prove myself, I won't go beyond a certain level because the lecturer just does not fancy the idea of me.

Sucks to have lecturers like that.

I just tried my best to fill up the space with words, so pay no attention to it.

It was really fun doing this magazine because I had my very own mini "photoshoot"! Ok I'd just like to call it a photoshoot because.. well... I've never been for a photoshoot before other than when I was 6 and I had to sit on a chair and take pictures with soft toys, so I'd like to comfort myself.

Christmas is coming but yet, I don't even have the time to for Christmas shopping. Everyday, it's all either practising our drama and dance for Performing Arts, or doing assignments for other subs. Pretty lifeless I'd say.
So.... probably there will be no presents for anyone this year LOL. I'm sorry.

Hate This Part Right Here

So much has been happening recently.. And it's almost more than I can take in. Criticism was one.

As you guys know I had a video assignment going on, and I completed it last week on Friday. It took me two whole days for editing. I didn't even get to sleep on the night before it was Friday because I was editing the video, and trying to make it as perfect as I thought it could be.

I was disappointed in many things about my video though. Alot of shots were not good, some blur, some shaky and even some which the colour was totally off compared to the other camera we used (thanks to my incompetent Nikon). And due to that, there was only so much I could do to make it look like nothing was wrong. I had to cut so many scenes that were supposed to be in my video.

However, I thought we did alright after all the editing. I thought that hey, this was definitely the best we could ever come up with. Well, apparently I was wrong.

The most disappointing part of this entire process was the moment I checked my marks. My group and I got such low marks, I couldn't even believe what I was seeing.

What the heck, we got even lower marks than groups which didn't even bother to put in as much effort as we did (eg. not using lighting equipment etc). No offence to anyone who don't use lighting equipment for their videos, but well I just felt it was abit unfair... No?

So one of my group mates decided to ask our lecturer why we got such low marks and how to improve on our video. The feedback that pissed me off the most was when he said something about our color correction not being good enough. I was like THE HECK. We did SO SO SO much colour correction and it obviously blended in too well for him to notice. OK I was just being sarcastic -.-

But how can he say that about us when he doesn't say that to other groups who didn't even bother to set up lights for a dark scene??? 

Then, there was the comment about our storyline. Sigh. What everybody didn't get was that our story was NOT a story. It was supposed to be abstract. I don't understand why people can't just sit back and enjoy the video before trying to scrutinize everything in our video.

And then they expect the entire message to be thrown at them at the end. I didn't do that because I wanted to leave space for people to think. There was a reason for every single thing in that damned video-from the title of it, to the message at the end. 

Sigh. Sigh. Sigh. 

I'm just disappointed with everything. Ok it's time to move on. I'm done ranting here. Lol sorry if you're not a video person and you're reading this trying to understand what on earth I am trying to say.

Yes, I'll move on.

Next assignment will be better, next video will be better. 

And for those who watched my video, I'm sorry for confusing you guys or anything. Just a heads up, it's not supposed to be taken as if it's a story. It's just.. abstract.

I wonder whether this was how Van Gogh felt when he showed people his art pieces LOL. Kk I'm no where near Van Gogh haha. 

Ya, was actually debating with myself on whether to post it up here and further humiliate myself.

But I figured I have moved past the point of caring.
